Heroine and Hero

I have always had heroes, heroines that I look up to, people who inspire me so, people who died for the country, People who helped with the mystery of medicine, life, health, and the countries peace. Here are some of my heroes that help me in learning and in mind. Marie Curie Edith Cavell Anne Frank Abraham Lincoln Martin Luther King Jr. Helen Keller Anne Sullivan Alexander Graham Bell Laura Ingalls Wilder John Muir Christopher Columbus Marco Polo Amelia Earhart Florence Nightingale George Washington Carver I have my confidence in all these brave men and woman that you will have them on your list of heroes. I have written them down in my diary and I am sure I shall reread it over and over again adding new ones. I have quite a few but these are the main that I look up to. Edith Cavell and Anne Frank were in World War II along with Florence Nightingale. E and F were nurses, very much into their work. Florence lived to ninety, and Edith died for her country at a Nazi camp. Anne Frank you probably know about after reading her diary if you have. Marie Curie was into doctoring and chemistry, Marco Polo and Christopher C. explorer in the New World, Alexander G. Bell invented the telephone, and George Washington Carver is the peanut expert and plant genius! Please Comment and tell me one or two of your favorite heroes and people you look up to! I would really like to look them up and add them to my list! Avi

Life Treasured

Life Treasured by Avila I am a life, a treasure of Life; A burst of Life, A shade of Life. I see Life in you, in me; In little things that grow, I feel a life that, like a knife, cuts my shape in this world. Life is given, Life is got, kindly hearts, Life is sought. How can we reprove its form, as life is always borne? How Life's mystery is deeper than night, Life is a light in the gravest of nights. Life comes, Life goes; Like the changing of the years, Life is a treasure that all must bear. I see life that comes, with a surge of pain; One beautiful Life has much to gain. I see life go, A shiver, a stillness; I see the frayed cloak of pain replaced with the fullest. Life brings blessings, woes and joys; Life is treasured, Life brings little girls and boys.

Winters Timing

How gorgeous the whole world was last week! All that snow and weather! The day after I had done that blogpost about Pinky, it was sunny and chilled, but like three days later, a white blanket covered Oregon and the surrounding "Isles". I have been working at my typing here at home, and I have also been teaching a little homeschool class called, Busy Bee School. WE made weather clocks today, and we all enjoyed the effect the make on the windows and walls! Weather clocks List: Construction Paper Scissors Markers, or Crayons yarn hole punch Brads Cut a circle out of the construction paper, and draw a pie. Carefully write, Rainy, Snowy, Sunny, and Hot, one weather on every pie "slice" Cut out an arrow and "brad" it in the middle of the pie. Then color in the "Slices" with lithe descriptive pictures of the weather. Hole punch and make a loop with the yarn to suspend the clock on a nail or a doorknob. These make great projects for little ones when they are learning about the weather signs and warnings! Me and the kids had such a fun time making them, and there very good gifts for grandparents/Oregonians/friends/kids! One of our female rabbit, Midnight had babies, 8 in total, and 7 are alive in the hutch where their mother takes wonderful care of them! The 8 one had squeezed thru the wiring on the cage and had gotten out on the cold wet grass, and had perished. But since now I have gone thru six bunny deaths, I was expecting at least two to die, but now I have immense hope in Midnight!
This is a pic of me as an angel during the christmas season! Please comment! AVI

Happy St. Valentines Salutations!

Happy Valentines day! I really hope you are all in good health, as we are just getting over some terrible coughs and chills, though the weather has turned a new leaf here in Oregon. My, but it is sunny, this time of year, though the sun offers no heat and we go about afraid to fall lest we can't get up with all the coats and scarfs that bury us! Above is the picture of the bunny, Pinky. Sadly he died after Francis had been dead for about a day. I have been very sad, since my cat also died, being hit by a car. But Life is life, as my Dad and Mom say. He was one of my favorites next to Francis who had his little arms and tail eaten by is unruly mother(Have I told you that before?). Anyway, I don't want to crowd this post with sad news, and so I wish my Dad, and my two cousins Angel & Gabe a happy birthday as they will be turning 7 and 2 this month. My dad might not want me to type his age, but I do wish you all many happy returns! Have a happy St. Valentines day this month! Love AVI D. P.S. I am turning pretty tough after the two drama's that have happened on Stoneway Dr. But don't worry, I'm still as crafty as ever! A.D.
