Gobbleheads and Crochet

Abel calls them Gobbleheads because they gobble up worms and they don't have bodies.  I prefer baby owl ornaments.  But alas, Abel was cuter than the owls and so he won out in the end.

Life hasn't been the norm, partly because of our three week quarantine, and Lent is coming up. I cannot believe it.  March 1st starts the 40 days.   February flew past, unlike these owls.  I have been crocheting a whole lot more which has been wonderful.  I only have time in the evenings to whip up amigurumi projects but that's great.  Slowly I am improving.   February, I tried out crochet motifs.

Turned out well. I enjoy trying out new techniques.  Unfortunately, these...skills do not include untangling the gross amount of yarn amoebas in the yarn drawer.  I had a fairly exciting experience.  My yarn stash has gone done with all the projects I have undertaken.  On ebay, an amazing deal showed up of 40 balls of yarn, 109 yards each for $25.  Mea culpa.  Always look before you leap.  The package arrived and I opened it on Valentine's day.  Forty miniature balls of yarn, about the size of the gobbleheads.  The whole mess of yarn was 109 yards in total.  So, lets just say the deal was not the best.  Lesson learned, do not judge a purchase by the pictures.  Mea culpa.
